Dale Fairbanks makes the finest Gibson reproductions, bar none. This is a fantastic playing and sounding recreation of one of the most coveted pre-war Gibson models, the 12 fret deep body Nick Lucas. The top is Adirondack spruce and the back and sides are mahogany. Fairbanks has mastered the art of the sunburst, this example has a beautifully shaded finish that transitions from a translucent brown to yellow/orange in the center. The mother of pearl fretboard inlays are the same design you would find on a Nick Lucas or L-4 archtop. The body is the same depth as a dreadnaught so you get the full bass response in a smaller, more comfortable body. The neck profile is a medium C carve with nicely rounded fingerboard edges. It is in excellent shape with hardly any play wear. It has all the tone of a vintage Gibson with the easy playability of a modern luthier built instrument. Comes with the original custom hardshell case.
