Sometimes the greatest art is created within limitations. This Martin 0-18 is a great example of the company's resourcefulness during WWII and using the constraints of the time to create instruments that stood apart from those made before or after.

Most of the metal supply was prioritized for the war effort. As a result, there were many unique features seen on instruments built during this period. This includes the ebony rod which replaced the steel T bar, brass frets, and lightweight tuners without bushings. The lack of a steel truss rod made the guitar much lighter overall. To compensate and add rigidity, the neck was carved a bit thicker with a soft V profile. The result is a guitar that is ultra touch sensitive, responsive, and balanced. The smaller body guitars tend to be more mid range forward but this one has a surprising amount of bass and is very opening sounding. There is an even balance between the bass, mids, and trebles.

This one has had all the necessary work done including a recent neck reset, so it is all ready to go. Two minor splits in the top have been repaired. The original frets are also in great shape with very little wear. This is an excellent choice if you're looking for a small body acoustic that does not compromise on tone. Comes with a new Martin branded hardshell case.
