This is a very nice, clean original example of a Martin 00-17. It features an all Mahogany construction with gloss finish (as opposed to the 15, which would have had a matte finish). The smaller 00 size is very comfortable and its dimensions are comparable to a Gibson LG or classical guitar. It is in perfect playing condition thanks to a recent neck reset and refret. It even comes complete with a period correct hard shell case with purple lining! It is very lightly built at just under 3.5lbs. The mahogany top paired with the smaller body size makes it a perfect guitar for fingerpicking or light strumming. The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge have beautiful figuring. The neck has a comfortable soft rounded V profile with rolled edges. These '50's Martins are an excellent value and they rarely come up in this condition.
