This is a great workhorse pre-war Gibson L-7 archtop. It has all the features you would want in a large 17" archtop without the fancy appointments. This particular example has beautifully figured maple back, sides, and neck. Nearly all the finish has been worn off the back of the neck from years of gigging, the bare wood is very comfortable and inviting to play. The maple neck also helps provide more focus to the tone overall when compared with a mahogany neck. Frets are in very good shape as it was previously strung lefty. It has a very powerful projecting tone with strong midrange and bass that is particularly well suited for rhythm and chord melody playing. It previously had a floating pickup installed and still has a hole cut out in the top for a volume knob. You can easily install a pickup of your choice without further modification if desired. Comes with a chipboard case. Overall it is a fantastic sounding and playing pre-war Gibson archtop. Hear this guitar in action!
