Michael Camilleri is a talented luthier based in NY and CT specializing in highly responsive acoustic guitars for fingerstyle playing. Most recently he's built instruments for Leo Kottke which he uses on tour. This particular example was also previously used on stage by Leo! It features a classic L-00 shaped body with Lutz spruce top and Koa back and sides. The Lutz top gives it a warm, soft tone while the Koa provides some brightness and overtones. For a guitar that is only a year old, it already has a very mature, open sound. Another reason why we love his guitars is the ultra stable bolt-on neck joint that allows for excellent sound transfer between the neck and the body. Camilleri is a luthier to look out for and we're very proud to be representing this instrument.
