Despite being a "student" model, the early Musicmasters have a unique combination of features that make it one of my personal favorite Fender models. It has a super short scale 22.5" neck that gives the strings a nice slinky feel. And since the frets are so close together, you can easily reach many chords that might not be possible on a full 25.5" scale neck. The single pickup is in a unique location so the tone is somewhere between what you would get from a typical neck and middle pickup. I find that playing with a single pickup forces you to be more creative. Playing near the bridge will give you a bright tone like a bridge pickup while playing over the fingerboard will give you a warm jazzy tone.
This might be the best playing and sounding 50's Musicmaster on the market right now! It's had a fresh professional refret and setup with 11's so it plays like a new guitar. Everything is original and even comes with the original hard shell case and bridge cover which I forgot to photograph. There is honest playwear throughout but no breaks. The best deal going right now for a 50's Fender.
