The Concert is a beautiful, immaculately built modern jazz archtop from local Pennsylvania based luthier, Anthony Lattanze. Lattanze comes from four generations of wood workers and studied under master archtop luthier, Bill Comins for 10 years.

The first thing that stands out when picking up the Concert is the perfect playability. The action is set up with a jazz guitarist in mind; you're able to fret notes with hardly any effort, yet it allows you to dig in on the bass strings without buzzing. The balance across the strings and up the fretboard is impressive. Notes on the bass strings have the same timbre, sustain, and projection as those on the treble strings. The incredible note separation allows you to hear each note within a chord clearly.

Besides being a great playing and sounding instrument, it is obviously also beautiful to look at! The top is a tight grained european spruce and the back and sides are flamed maple. The finish is thin nitrocellulose lacquer over a fine violin burst. The bridge and fretboard are both made from jet black ebony. Being a fan of Epiphone guitars, I especially appreciate the nod to early 1930's Masterbilt Epiphones with the "haircut" style headstock design.
