In my opinion, the early Traditional series were the pinnacle of Collings' acoustic guitar production. It was a homage to the "Golden Era" instruments and a return to more traditional guitar building techniques. Features include hot hide glue construction throughout, full nitro finish, cut through saddle, and full vintage profile neck. 2016 was the first year for the series and Bill Collings himself was still there to sign each of the labels as they came off the line. Bill wanted to create the absolute best experience possible and cost was secondary. There was no expense spared and it is evident from the attention to detail and spectacular sound.
Collings is known for their pristine build quality, bright tone, and note separation. This OM2H Traditional is a bit closer to a Martin, with a warmer, more midrange forward tone. It is amazingly touch sensitive which makes it especially rewarding to play fingerstyle. The rosewood back and sides with the naturally aged sitka top gives it plenty of sustain. Its previous owner took great care of it and it hardly shows any wear. A strap button was installed at the heel. A older hardshell case is included. It is currently my favorite acoustic in the shop.
