The good ones get played! This is a Fender Jaguar from 1962, the first year of production. It is a fantastic sounding and playing example thanks to a fresh refret and setup by Philadelphia Fretworks. The finish has been worn off the back of the neck completely, revealing the smooth maple underneath. The fingerboard edges are rolled comfortably. The tone is slightly warmer than the average Jaguar, I believe it is partly due to the early style pickups with flat pole pieces. The finish at the forearm and belly areas have been worn down to the wood. The sunburst from 1962 was beautifully applied, it has a gradual seamless red transition from the black to the yellow section, in contrast with the later sunbursts that were more distinct and hastily applied. It is all original aside from the newer bridge. This is a feel that can't be replicated with relicing, only years and years of gigging.
