This 1958 Guild T-100B was owned and gigged by a professional musician in Congers, NY its whole life. The original case still bears the owner's name, "Leuser", by the handle. This is a very rare and unusual model with a custom ordered Cherry Red finish- the standard colors at the time were sunburst and natural. It also features two highly sought after Franz pickups (made in Queens, NY) and a Bigsby vibrato that was added soon after the guitar was made. Our neighbors at Philadelphia Fretworks completed a perfect refret using Jescar 90x55 fretwire so it plays better than new. The guitar is amazingly lightweight and responsive thanks to the fully hollowbody construction. The single coil Franz pickups have a bright airy tone. The bridge pickup works very well for playing rock while the neck pickup has a jazzy warm tone that still has plenty of clarity. The middle position is factory out of phase and is perfect for R'n'B rhythm tones. The Bigsby works well and also eases the string tension when picking. Overall, this is a beautifully preserved example of a late 50's, Hoboken NJ made Guild, with all the best repair work done to bring it up to modern playing spec.
