This Bacon and Day Senorita S-6 is one of the best sounding acoustic guitars we've ever had in the shop. This model is most closely associated with John Fahey who played a slightly earlier version which can be seen on the cover of his "Requia" album. In the 1930's, musical trends were shifting away from the brash piercing tone of the banjo and towards the softer sound of the guitar. Bacon and Day was well known for their banjos but didn't have the capacity to manufacture guitars, so they had Regal build the bodies for them and finished off the appointments themselves. This was their top of the line flat top acoustic guitar with Brazilian rosewood back and sides. It is about the size of a Martin 000 with the depth of a dreadnaught. It has the quick response and projection of a great Larson brothers guitar with the bass response of a D-28. Truly an amazing guitar for any style of playing. The notes pop when played fingerstyle and it still has plenty of headroom when driven hard with a pick.

It is in excellent condition with no cracks anywhere. It has all the top quality repair work already done including a perfect neck reset just completed by Dave Strunk at Brothers Music and a clean refret by Folkway Music. Comes with a modern hard shell case. Just a very clean, original, beautiful sounding example of a very rare and sought after model.
