This is a rare 1935 Martin 00-17 in very nice, well preserved shape. The neck profiles from this particular year were especially comfortable, featuring a wide 1 3/4" nut width and a full rounded profile measuring 0.87" at the first fret and 1.02" at the seventh fret. This one is priced more affordably because it could benefit from a neck reset and refret down the road but plays and sounds very nice as it is. It is in all original condition including finish and hardware save for the bridge pins and two tuner gear screws (Please note that the D and G bridge pins were replaced with ones that are better matched since the photos were taken). There is one nearly invisible grain split on the back by the waist that does not go all the way through otherwise it is crack free. The mahogany used on these prewar Martins is far superior to the Mahogany that is available today. It is much stiffer and the tone is comparable to spruce. It comes with a nice hardshell case from the 50's/60's. It is a beautiful sounding instrument that has been well played and loved.
