This is a beautiful mid sized Epiphone archtop from 1932, one of the best years for the company! It has all of the most desirable features including inlaid pearl banner headstock, 15.5" body, segmented f holes, and walnut back and sides. These early Long Island City made Epiphones (1931-1934) have unbelievable note separation and projection. The walnut gives it more overtones when compared to the more common maple back and sides, making it a little more forgiving when playing solo. The 15.5" body size is in between the larger 16 3/8" (Deluxe, Broadway) and the smaller 13 5/8" (Olympic, Zenith), making it very comfortable to hold, similar to a Martin 000.
This one has definitely been played in its lifetime but it's been well cared for. There are no cracks, just lots of play wear. It's had a refret and a newer compensated bridge installed. There is plenty for room for action adjustment in either direction. Newer hardshell case will be included. Overall an excellent value for a golden era Epiphone.
