These 1950's small body Martins are an ideal companion for traveling and recording. This one is especially nice sounding and playing. The tone is midrange forward but also has a nice full bass which is unusual for a guitar of this size. The construction of this model (woods/bracing) stayed fairly consistent from the early 50's to the mid 60's with the main difference being the neck profile. Early 50's Martins had a rounded C shape, in the late 50's it developed into a slight V, and finally in the 60's they went to a slimmer V profile. All are great sounding instruments, just choose your favorite neck! The neck profile on this one is nice and full with a slight V, if that is your preferred feel, this might be the one for you. Action is set at 3/32" on both sides with room for adjustment at the saddle. The only repairs are a minor top crack and a side crack on the treble side, both have been addressed. Overall this is an excellent sounding and playing little guitar from a great period in Martin's history.
