Baldwin/Burns guitars are some of the most underrated electric guitars of the mid 60's. Jim Burns is often referred to as the British Leo Fender. This is a great playing and sounding example of the later style Vibraslim from the Baldwin era. It features a semi hollow construction similar to the Gibson ES-335 with a solid center block. The unique "Bar-O-Matik" pickup is a stacked humbucker in the neck position with a second coil that can be blended in. In the bridge position is a snappy single coil. The three way switch and master volume allow you to dial in the exact tone you're looking for. This was a very premium model that originally retailed for 140 pounds which is around $3200 today when adjusted for inflation. It plays perfectly up the neck with very low action at 2/32" at the 12th fret. It even comes with the original hard case. The wide body is very comfortable and balanced to hold and the pickups provide a large variety of sounds from a warm rhythm to a bright strat lead tone.
