For the players out there looking for a great sounding and playing vintage Gibson bass at a price that won't break the bank, this is the one for you. This is a rare early example with the black pickup cover. It is completely original with the only flaw being the repaired headstock. There was no touchup done but the repair is solid. It even comes in its original chip board case which is in fairly clean condition considering its age.  The original "mudbucker" pickup sounds fantastic. We have it strung up with flatwounds for an authentic 60's tone. The neck angle is great which is hard to find on this model, it is set up with nice low action and plays great all the way up the neck. The finish is all original and the cherry stain is largely unfaded. It exhibits beautiful natural checking throughout. Overall it is a great deal on a classic 60's Gibson bass.
