These early wartime models have a unique combination of features that make them different from anything that came before or after. The top is a beautiful tight grained Adirondack spruce that gives it a crisp woody tone with plenty of headroom. Just a few years later in 1945, Martin would switch over to the more common Sitka spruce. It also features scalloped bracing which in my opinion works especially well on these smaller body models, bringing out a stronger bass response. Martin would switch over to straight bracing around 1944.

It is in excellent condition overall and has had all the necessary maintenance done including a neck reset and refret. Amazingly the only crack is the typical pickguard crack under the b string which has been neatly repaired. It even comes complete with a custom fit Calton flight case. Overall this is a great example of a small body wartime Martin guitar and would be an excellent investment for any collector or player.
