This is one of the finest 50's Southern Jumbos we've come across. The Southern Jumbo or "SJ" was just a step above its more well known sibling, the J-45. It used higher quality woods and fancier appointments including split parallelogram inlays and multi layer binding. Tonewise, they also tend to have more projection and note separation. This example is in amazingly good condition and has the tone to match. Everything is original save for the Waverly reproduction tuners. It even comes complete with the original brown hard shell case. A fresh neck reset was just completed so the playability is on point. The action is currently set at 3/32" and still has plenty saddle remaining if you prefer a even lower action. There is the typical crack on the inside edge of the pickguard and a couple small cracks on the back, all of which have been nicely repaired and are barely visible. All in all this is a very powerful sounding and easy playing guitar in excellent collectable condition.
