It has the perfect neck profile; a substantial rounded V with rolled fingerboard edges. The tone can be described as mid range focused and punchy, it really excels at fingerstyle. It's just had a neck reset completed by Brothers Music in PA, so the playability is as good as it gets. These guitars are the perfect choice for traveling and songwriting thanks to the lightweight compact body, but at the same time, it doesn't compromise at all in sound. There is tons of honest play wear throughout the body but surprisingly no cracks! There is only a minor repair at the back of the headstock that was neatly done. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThese wartime Martins are fairly rare and offer a unique combination of features not found in any other era. They are ultra light weight thanks the the ebony rod in the neck and light wartime tuners. A full rounded V profile neck ideal for those who prefer bigger necks. The neck profile is a full C shape compared to the thinner profile from when the model was first introduced. Everything is original original except for the high e tuner. The hardened pickup and bridge mute foam has been replaced so everything is adjustable and usable. The original owner lightly scratched numbers into some of the control plates - see photos. Comes with the original hard shell case and mute\/bridge cover\/leather strap. I love chunky necks and these wartime\/ early post-war Martins are some of my favorites. The tone is clear and woody, exactly what you would expect from a guitar that has been loving played and cared for. No headstock break or heel break! The neck is straight and plays great without buzzing all the way up the neck. The neck profile is typical for this period; nice full rounded C that doesn't get too thick at the neck joint. It has a super short scale 22.5\" neck that gives the strings a nice slinky feel. And since the frets are so close together, you can easily reach many chords that might not be possible on a full 25.5\" scale neck. The single pickup is in a unique location so the tone is somewhere between what you would get from a typical neck and middle pickup. I find that playing with a single pickup forces you to be more creative. Playing near the bridge will give you a bright tone like a bridge pickup while playing over the fingerboard will give you a warm jazzy tone. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThis might be the best playing and sounding 50's Musicmaster on the market right now! It's had a fresh professional refret and setup with 11's so it plays like a new guitar. They are comfortable and lightweight thanks to the chambered body. The custom wound Lindy Fralin pickups are clear, transparent, and amplify much of the acoustic qualities of the instrument. It is in excellent condition overall and even comes with the original custom Ameritage case. The finish on the back of the neck has been worn down smooth from years of gigging; the sign of a great instrument. It may just be the most comfortable neck I've come across, the edges are perfectly rolled giving it a very inviting feel. At some point, the back was oversprayed black but as you can see, the original finish is still present underneath. Personally I love the look of the sunburst peaking through the black finish. As you play and put your own wear into it, the more of the original sunburst will be revealed. This is exactly the look the Fender custom shop would love to replicate. All the hardware, pickup, electronics is original. The black finish is quite sleek in our opinion!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a great example of an early 30's L-10 because it has the highly desirable solid braces as opposed to the more common kerfed bracing that Gibson started to implement at the time in order to save money. Kerfed bracing is referring to where the braces under the top are cut slightly so that they can be bent to fit the shape of the carved top. Kerfing saves time in the production but the result is that the braces are not as strong, therefore the downward pressure from the strings cause the center of the top to sink. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eWith solid braces, they are carefully carved in order to fit the top. The top on this example is in excellent condition with no sinking as the two sides of the f holes line up perfectly. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnother fascinating depression-era feature are the \"picture frame\" inlays on the fretboard. The LG series were based on the shape of classical guitars, the smaller body size makes them an excellent choice for players who want a comfortable guitar that excels at finger picking. There were a couple variations in the lineup- the LG-0 is all mahogany with ladder bracing, the LG-1 is spruce top with ladder bracing, the LG-2 is spruce top with X bracing and the LG-3 is the same as the LG-2 but with a natural finish instead of the sunburst. The LG-2 is considered a bit more collectable than its lower end siblings because the X bracing provides a tone that is more familiar to modern players. It has a bit more sustain which makes it more versatile overall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe early 50's was a sweet spot for Gibson acoustics. Quality of construction and woods used post war was great.  It has a comfortable full neck with a 1 11\/16\" nut. Earlier models had big baseball bat necks, later 60's models had skinnier 1 5\/8\" necks. It also features the desirable smaller pickguard which was replaced in 1955 with a larger pickguard that covers the area below the fingerboard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe neck has just been reset by Dave Strunk so the geometry is perfect. A period correct, cut through style bridge was also made by Strunk at the same time. It's had a complete refret done by Braxton and Hyde. It's had all the necessary work done and is ready to go for another 50 years. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition is excellent, it only has the typical crack along the inside edge of the pickguard from the shrinking celluloid. Finish is all original. Comes with a newer black hard shell case. There is a very nice sounding passive pickup installed, can be easily removed if desired. There was no expense spared and it is evident from the attention to detail and spectacular sound. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCollings is known for their pristine build quality, bright tone, and note separation. This OM2H Traditional is a bit closer to a Martin, with a warmer, more midrange forward tone. It is amazingly touch sensitive which makes it especially rewarding to play fingerstyle. The rosewood back and sides with the naturally aged sitka top gives it plenty of sustain. Its previous owner took great care of it and it hardly shows any wear.
