This is a fantastic first year example of a Kalamazoo KG-11 Senior. Kalamazoo was Gibson's budget brand during the Great Depression and the KG-11 was the first guitar model introduced in the new lineup. These earliest examples are, in my opinion, the best ones that they made. They featured solid linings instead of kerfed linings, a small sunburst, and a comfortable soft V neck profile. The "Senior" is the upgraded version of the standard KG-11 which added a firestripe pickguard and checkered soundhole binding. Only seen on Gibsons from 1933, the narrower solid linings allow more of the top to vibrate, effectively providing a larger top. The bass response is similar to what you might expect from an OM size guitar.

It is in excellent shape and has been completely gone over by luthier Reonda Cheng in NYC. There is the typical crack next to the pickguard and two below the bridge. All have been very cleanly repaired. There are no other repairs. Frets are in good shape with hardly any wear. It plays comfortably up the neck and the saddle still has a little room for adjustment if desired. The tone is open with strong fundamentals thanks to the feather light build and ladder bracing. It comes in the original Geib soft case. Overall this is a very cool and rare guitar from one of, if not the best year for Gibson flat top acoustics.
