It has the perfect neck profile; a substantial rounded V with rolled fingerboard edges. The tone can be described as mid range focused and punchy, it really excels at fingerstyle. It's just had a neck reset completed by Brothers Music in PA, so the playability is as good as it gets. These guitars are the perfect choice for traveling and songwriting thanks to the lightweight compact body, but at the same time, it doesn't compromise at all in sound. There is tons of honest play wear throughout the body but surprisingly no cracks! There is only a minor repair at the back of the headstock that was neatly done.

These wartime Martins are fairly rare and offer a unique combination of features not found in any other era. They are ultra light weight thanks the the ebony rod in the neck and light wartime tuners. A full rounded V profile neck ideal for those who prefer bigger necks. Later Fenders (after 1962) come with a thinner veneer fretboard. This one is very well preserved in original condition and even includes the often missing bridge cover and original hard shell case. It has just received a perfect refret with vintage correct fretwire. This is the cleanest and most original example of an early small body Masterbilt Olympic we have ever handled. In 1932, the US was in the depths of the Great Depression. To reflect the needs of the time, Epiphone created this affordable but high quality model. At $35, this was the entry level offering in the newly introduced 1931 line up. The top is hand carved Adirondack spruce with solid carved braces. In contrast to their main competitor, Gibson, who would use inferior kerfed bracing and pressed tops. The Olympic is unique in that there is no modern equivalent. It is a small body, solid carved top, solid braced, parallel (versus X) braced acoustic archtop. This combination of features is what gives it its unmistakable tone which Rawlings has used to great effect. This particular example is also amazingly well preserved. All original hardware including the tailpiece, bridge, tuners, and pickguard. It retains the original wraparound tailpiece that has no signs of breaks or stress which is very common in early Epiphones. No cracks or breaks anywhere. This model was most famously used by Jack Bruce of Cream. Despite sharing the same SG body shape as younger brother, the EB-0, the addition of the bridge pickup adds a whole world of tones which make it much more versatile in the context of a band. Gibson uses a four-way rotary switch for the pickup selector. In the first position, you get the neck pickup only which gives a deep low rumbling tone with almost no high end; hence the nickname, "Mudbucker". In the second position, you get the bridge pickup only, which is a much brighter tone reminiscent of a Jazz bass. Position 3 (the best position) is the neck and bridge pickups together which gives you a huge wall of sound. This is the iconic EB-3 tone. Position 4 is the neck pickup with a midrange notch. Not the best tone in our opinion but perhaps you can find a use for it and make it your own. This example is very clean, well preserved with no breaks. The construction of this model (woods/bracing) stayed fairly consistent from the early 50's to the mid 60's with the main difference being the neck profile. Early 50's Martins had a rounded C shape, in the late 50's it developed into a slight V, and finally in the 60's they went to a slimmer V profile. Germany based, Verso, has designed something completely fresh. The most striking feature is the body which is essentially a flat sheet of steel that has been folded over to form a comfortable curve at the top for the arm and a "B" shape at the bottom which fits securely in the lap. The pickup is attached magnetically to the body and can be freely positioned for an infinite variety of tones. Played through a 60's Ampeg B-15, the sounds are surprisingly familiar and useable. Move the pickup towards the bridge and you get a punchy bright Jazz bass tone, slide it towards the middle you get a classic Precision sound, and placing it right against the neck you get the Gibson EB-3 "Mudbucker". Slanting the pickup allows you to change the balance across the strings. The frets are hand leveled, the potentiometers are upgraded, and all the electronics have been shielded. The result is a affordable instrument with high quality components and a excellent playability! This Hazzard features a clean white finish over a mahogany body. The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard. It was a homage to the "Golden Era" instruments and a return to more traditional guitar building techniques. Features include hot hide glue construction throughout, full nitro finish, cut through saddle, and full vintage profile neck. 2016 was the first year for the series and Bill Collings himself was still there to sign each of the labels as they came off the line. Bill wanted to create the absolute best experience possible and cost was secondary. There was no expense spared and it is evident from the attention to detail and spectacular sound.

Collings is known for their pristine build quality, bright tone, and note separation. This OM2H Traditional is a bit closer to a Martin, with a warmer, more midrange forward tone. It is amazingly touch sensitive which makes it especially rewarding to play fingerstyle. The rosewood back and sides with the naturally aged sitka top gives it plenty of sustain. Its previous owner took great care of it and it hardly shows any wear. A strap button was installed at the heel. A older hardshell case is included. It is currently my favorite acoustic in the shop.

If you're looking to recreate David Rawling's iconic sound, look no further. This is a very clean, all original example from the same year as Rawling's own Olympic with all the same features including the smaller 13 5/8" body, banner logo, and non-segmented f holes. No cracks or breaks anywhere. Playability is also excellent thanks to a clean neck reset, low action with additional room for adjustment at the saddle. Frets are in excellent shape with hardly any wear. This is just a flat out amazing example of a very sought after Pre-war Epiphone Masterbilt model. It comes in its original chipboard case which is also in excellent condition.
The Guild Starfire Bass II is one of the most underrated vintage basses in our opinion. The single pickup models are fairly common but the two pickup models are much more rare and versatile. The mid 60's was when Guild hit their stride; excellent quality and made in Hoboken, NJ. The original Bisonic pickups provide a powerful clear tone in both positions with no hint of muddiness. See Thom Yorke play the same model on the most recent NPR Tiny Desk Concert with his band The Smile. There is a 3 way switch with individual volume and tone controls for each pickup and a master volume. We strung this one up with Labella Flats and it sounds great when played with your fingers or with a foam mute and pick. The hollowbody construction makes it lightweight gives it a tone reminiscent of an upright. This one has been well played and cared for. There is buckle wear on the back but no structural damage. The playability is perfect, it has a good neck angle and clearance over the pickups. It also comes in the original hardshell case with "Zooks" spray painted on the lid.
